For many years, Saint Mary’s Parish has sponsored Troop 7 of the Boy Scouts of America. Hundreds, if not thousands of young boys have grown-up under the direction of virtuous men and women who have helped and formed them to become adults who value their faith and seek to be good citizens. Over the past several months, Troop 7 has been searching for a new leader—someone who would be willing to lead this generation of our youth in those same ways of virtue. Sadly, however, no one has presented himself to lead in this capacity. We have now reached a time when a decision must be made on whether Troop 7 can continue, or whether it will have to be dissolved due to a lack of leadership. BSA filing requirements require us to make this decision by the end of October 2021. Please consider whether God might be calling you to help with this important endeavor, to help our young people and to continue the long tradition of forming our students to be the leaders we need for generations to come.
